If you want to take things to the next level, use video. When you cold call on a prospect by doing a marketing drop, take a quick video of yourself next to their sign. Thank them for letting you introduce yourself. Thank them for being kind to you and talk about what an excellent job the gatekeeper did. 

While you are at it, tell them that you look forward to speaking with them soon to set up a time to dive deeper. You may seem weird, taking video in front of someone’s business. You will be the ONLY salesperson who sends them a video message from their place of business. 

Of course, you need to be careful. Some people will not want you to videotape anything. Some people get upset about things like that. Use your best judgment.
